Wallpaper instructions Wizard&Genius Paper Photo Wallpaper
Wallpapering with paper wallpaper is not difficult. However, it is important that you pay attention to a number of things. Below are a number of steps and tips to properly wallpaper the wallpaper.
Order Received
Before you start wallpapering, check whether you have received everything. Lay out all the parts and put them in the correct order. Before applying, check your delivery for errors and whether it is complete. If the delivery is incorrect, please report this immediately to our customer service (once it has been stuck to the wall, you can no longer complain about the photo wallpaper). Allow the wallpaper to acclimatize for 24 hours before applying to prevent shrinkage. For optimal results, the temperature of the room to be wallpapered should be between 18-21ºC.
1. Surface preparation
The wall on which the wallpaper is pasted must be smooth, grease-free, dry and clean. For a nice, sleek result, we also recommend removing old wallpaper and not sticking wallpaper over wallpaper. Make sure that the surface is light and has an even color so that it cannot shine through. The desired temperature in the room is between 18-20 °C so that the wallpaper does not dry too quickly and therefore come loose from the wall.
Tip; Draw a perpendicular line on the wall so that your wallpaper does not hang crookedly. Many walls are not exactly at a right angle - so attach the photo wallpaper from the center of the wall outwards and use a spirit level, plumb bob and pencil to draw a horizontal and vertical guideline.
2. Apply glue
Use glue that is suitable for application to the wall and suitable for paper wallpaper. Apply the glue directly to the wallpaper with a wallpaper roller (1 strip at a time). Allow the glue to soak in/soak for exactly 3 minutes on all sheets and do not place the glued pieces of paper on top of each other.
3. Wallpapering
Apply the wallpaper to the wall. It is best to start with the bottom left part. Lubricate the track carefully and evenly, also paying close attention to the sides. The glued parts may not be placed on top of each other. Do not leave a glued part for too long (1-2 minutes), start immediately applying the parts to the wall. Use the pre-made marker to apply the first part and smooth it from top to bottom. Smooth out any air bubbles from the center to the sides. Any adhesive residue on the image can be carefully wiped off with a damp sponge. If any part is crooked, carefully remove it immediately and reapply it.
IMPORTANT:
Paper wallpaper is always glued to the wall with an overlap. This is not the case with the paper wallpaper from Wizard & Genius (W+G), which must be applied 'butting'.
4. Drying
Drying should be done very slowly. Work at a room temperature of approx. 20°C and avoid drafts (keep windows closed, heat moderately in winter). And finally, after drying, carefully remove the protruding edges with a cutting knife.
